About our emcee
Don Shelby is a longtime friend of the StepUP community and passionate advocate for those in recovery. An Emmy Award-winning journalist and former WCCO news anchor, Don is no stranger to the road to recovery. In his weekly article for MinnPost, Shelby lightly acknowledged, "I am an addictive personality. I have been addicted to tobacco, alcohol, and getting engaged (five times)." Through journalism, Shelby found a productive outlet-where a positive addiction to "learning things" was channeled to become a powerful asset to the broader community. He currently hosts the Geoversiv-Earth Intel podcast, exploring climate change.
